President Cyril Ramaphosa will on 6 and 7 October 2021 host the second Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium of South Africa (SIDSSA21).
The symposium will be held under the theme “Quality infrastructure for development, recovery and inclusive growth”.
Hosted by the Investment and Infrastructure Office in The Presidency, the event will facilitate engagement among a range of stakeholders from the financing sector, business sector, academia and project sponsors.
The aim is to revitalise the infrastructure pipeline and strengthen South Africa’s Infrastructure Investment Plan and enable industrialisation and job creation as envisaged in the Economic Reconstruction and Recovey Plan and the Re-imagined Industrial Strategy.
These interventions are geared to boost demand and ensure effective coordination of all infrastructure players and formalise systematic engagement with all role players.
It is envisaged that these interventions will also contribute to building a resilient economy by accelerating the delivery of infrastructure.
The symposium will be held in hybrid format and provision has been made for 50 journalists to physically attend a pre-event media briefing at the Sandton Convention Centre on Wednesday 6 October 2020.
Accreditation will also allow journalists to attend the symposium on Thursday, 7 October 2021.
