As part of the VALA KONKE Safer Festive Season operations, the police in the ZF Mgcawu District secured arrests for dealing in dagga and possession of drugs from Thursday, 24 November 2022 to date.
The crime intelligence driven operations focused in the greater Upington where they followed on information that was received about alleged illegal activities at some premises. The police operationalised the information received and conducted search and seizure operation at the different identified premises.
They arrested six male persons between the ages 20 and 46 and confiscated dagga, mandrax and cash believed to be the proceeds of the sale of drugs amounting to R108 415,00.
The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Peet Coetzee applauded the action by the members and said the fight to squeeze crime to zero and leave no space for drug dealers to operate in our communities continues.
