The Oshikoto police have opened a rape case against a 14-year-old boy after he reportedly threatened and raped an 11-year-old boy at Onkumbula in Okankolo constituency. The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Regional Commander, Commissioner Theopoline Kalompho-Nashikaku on Tuesday said, the incident allegedly happened on Saturday at around 14h00. The victim is a grade three learner at a local school whilst the suspect, a resident of Onanyege village, schools at Ohamaye Primary School. 'It is alleged that the suspect found the victim alone in his mother's house and demanded food, whereafter he grabbed the victim, before undressing him,' reported Nashikaku. He then threatened the victim with a panga and had sex with the victim under cohesive circumstances. 'The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court on Monday, where he was released in the care of his guardian. In a separate incident, a 24-year-old Namibian man died on the spot, after he was allegedly hit by a White Toyota Hilux w hile crossing the Tsumeb/Oshivelo road, about 37 kilometres to Tsumeb. The body of the deceased was taken to the Tsumeb State Hospital Mortuary and the next of kin has been informed. Investigations in both matters continue. Source: The Namibia Press Agency
