Mangaung Metro Tactical Response Team arrested a 29-year-old suspect for possession of suspected stolen property on Wednesday 19 January 2022. The team received information of the suspect selling laptops at a residential flat in Willows. They swiftly responded to investigate the allegations.

The police arrived at the unit and the suspect gave permission for the flat to be searched. Nine laptops, 17 universal chargers and other computer apparatuses were found and confiscated from the unit. The suspect failed to produce documents to prove that he was running a legitimate electronics business. He was also not in possession of documents that allow him to be in the country.

A case of possession of presumably stolen property was opened at Parkweg police station with additional charge of being an illegal immigrant in the Republic of South Africa. The suspect will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Friday 21 January 2022.
