Swartkops detectives investigate culpable homicide

GQEBERHA – The South African Police Service in Swartkops are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal collision between a VW Polo and a Scania truck at 23:30 last night, Tuesday, 21 September 2021.

 

It is alleged that the driver of a silver VW Polo was travelling on the Addo Road, Coega when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with the truck.  Both vehicles caught alight and three unidentified persons travelling in the VW Polo (driver included) burnt beyond recognition. Two passengers (a male and female) in the VW Polo managed to escape the flames and was admitted to a hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.  Investigations are continuing.

 

Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying the victims or may know of a person driving a silver VW Polo and has not heard from him since last night to contact SAPS Swartkops Detective Sergeant Luyanda Maneli on 082 697 5845 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
