Suspects to face charges for possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition

Efforts to disarm suspects and make our communities safe, led to the arrests of two suspects last night, 10 October 2021 by members of the Western Cape Flying Squad. The members responded to information of a firearm that is at an address in Manenberg. Upon arrival they searched the premises and recovered a 9mm pistol without a serial number. The suspects were arrested for the possession of a prohibited firearm.

 

In an unrelated matter members of the Anti-Gang Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation in Belhar and Delft on Sunday, 10 October 2021 which resulted in the arrest of three suspects aged 18, 19 and 49 for the possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition

 

Once charged the suspects will make court appearances in Bellville and Athlone Magistrate’s courts respectively
