THABONG – An intelligence driven operation by members of Welkom Public Order Policing (POP) Unit led to the arrest of two males for theft of liquor and a sound system stolen at a liquor store at Themba Section in Thabong yesterday, 07 October 2022 at about 05:00.

Members received a tip-off and immediately proceeded to the identified address where upon arrival they found two men in possession of a sound system and liquor worth an estimated value of R100 000-00 and all items were confiscated.

The owner of the liquor store, who was not aware that his store was burgled, was contacted and he positively identified all stolen items as his.

The duo, aged 23 and 31, were arrested and will soon appear at Welkom Magistrate’s Court.
