Suspects due in court for the possession of presumed stolen property

An intelligence driven operation by members of the Anti-Gang Unit on Friday afternoon in Elsies River led to the arrests of four suspects aged between 17 and 52 for the possession of suspected stolen property. The members received information about stolen property being stored at a premises in Waltham Road, Epping Forest. The information was followed up and the premises searched. The members confiscated refrigerators to the value of R87 500 as well as other electronic equipment.

In an unrelated matter members of Manenberg SAPS arrested a 17-year-old male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Storms River Walk, Manenberg on Sunday. The arrest followed after SAPS members came under attack when they responded to a complaint of stone throwing at the address. A firearm and ammunition were confiscated.

Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Goodwood and Athlone Magistrates courts.
