Efforts to rid our communities from the illegal drug trade yielded positive results when members of the Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 36-year-old female suspect for the possession of drugs in Horstley Court Steenberg at about 23:10 last night.
The members received information from the public about drugs that are kept at the address, and searched which led to the discovery of 195 mandrax tablets and 65 packets of crystal meth. The estimated street value of the drugs is about R9000-00. The suspect will make her court appearance in Wynberg tomorrow.
In an unrelated police intervention, members of Lockdown II arrested a 24-year-old suspect in Nyanga for being in possession of 100 mandrax tablets last week. He is due to make his court appearance in Athlone tomorrow.
