Suspects arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and drugs

WESTERN CAPE – Atlantis police members were busy with patrols when they received information about stolen goods at an address in Sherwood Park. Upon arrival at the address in Knysna Street, they searched the premises and confiscated a 9mm pistol with ammunition including drugs and cash. Two males aged 15 and 18 were arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and dealing in drugs.

 

In an unrelated matter members of the Maitland Flying Squad responded to a business robbery in Simons Town on Tuesday, 16 November 2021. The vehicle used by the suspects was spotted near to Wynberg, after being followed by integrated forces in an unmarked vehicle. The police members searched the vehicle and the occupants, and confiscated a pistol as well as an air pistol. Four suspects, aged between 34 and 39, were arrested and detained on charges of business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

 

Once charged they are expected to make a court appearance in the Atlantis and Simons Town Magistrate courts respectively on the mentioned charges.
