Suspects arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm, ammunition and presumed stolen property

Members of Maitland Flying Squad followed up information about a firearm at an address in Heideveld area in the early hours of this morning.

 

They searched the premises and found a .22 pistol as well as 21 rounds, six sachets of tik and six mandrax tablets. Six suspects, aged between 25 and 56 were arrested and detained on a charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of drugs. They are due to appear in the Athlone Magistrates court on Friday, 3 December 2021.

 

In an unrelated matter, members attached to the Provincial Commercial Crimes detectives arrested two male suspects aged 34 and 46 on charges of possession of presumed stolen property on Monday, 29 November 2021 at about 23:57.

 

According to reports the members received information and description about two suspects coming from Hermanus to Century City driving a LDV. On their arrival at Century City they found the LDV with the same description that they have received. They stopped the vehicle and upon searching the suspects they found 15 bank cards, two cellular telephones, 16 sim cards, and paper work with bank card pin numbers, cellular telephone numbers written on it.

 

Once charged, the suspects are all expected to make their court appearances in Cape Town to face the charges against them.
