Suspects arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, hijacked vehicle and indigenous plants

Concerted efforts by members of the Western Cape Flying Squad to keep communities safe landed three suspects aged between 26 and 40 behind bars for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and a hijacked vehicle in Leiden Delft this morning. The members received information about the vehicle and tested it and found it was hijacked in Ravensmead. Upon searching the premises the members found a CZ 7.65 pistol hidden in the house.

 

In an unrelated matter integrated efforts between SAPS Rural Flying Squad and Cape Nature Vanrhynsdorp led to the arrest of four suspects for the possession of 7665 Conophytum succulent plants. The members received information about the vehicle that is transporting succulent plants. The vehicle was spotted at a garage on the N7 Citrusdal and searched.

 

The suspects are due to make their court appearances on Monday, 4 October 2021.
