Suspects arrested for non-compliance during level 4 regulations

More than ten suspects aged between 27 and 49 years were arrested during the Vuthu Hawe operations in Msobomvu last night.

Police conducted an operation between 16h00 and 02h00 this morning in monitoring curfew times and non-compliance on Level 4 regulations. Suspects were given fine for not wearing their face mask.  During the operations they managed to close a shebeen and a 30 year old male was arrested for selling liquor during level 4 regulations.  Liquor was confiscated by Police.

This sends a strong message to the community members to wear their face masks and adhere to Level 4 regulations as Police will keep on doing operations and monitor non-compliance on Disaster Management Act regulations.

These suspects are due to appear at Butterworth Magistrate court on Monday.
