Suspects arrested for dealing in drugs and possession of stolen property

On Friday, 27 August 2021, an operation was conducted in conjunction with the Western Cape Provincial Integrated Task Team at an address in Cambridge, Riverside Kuilsrivier that belongs to a known gang grouping. The members arrested a 47-year-old man for dealing in drugs. They confiscated 404 medium plastic bags of dagga, 17 parcels of dagga and 15 dagga cigarettes. The suspect is expected to appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrate Court on Monday, 30 August 2021, on the mentioned charges.

 

In an unrelated matter, members of Maitland Flying Squad followed up information after they were informed that people are departing from an address in Philippi area with boxes. Members went to the address and saw that a truck, LDV’s (bakkies) and SUV vehicles are leaving the premises with boxes of sheep liver. After investigation, they discovered that a truck with boxes of sheep livers were stolen in Killarney Industrial area. The load was delivered in Philippi, where people collected the boxes again. Two thousand- two hundred and twenty five (2 225) boxes of sheep livers were seized with a value of R 500 000.  Fifteen suspects aged between 25 and 35 were arrested and detained on a case of possession of prohibition stolen property.  They are due to appear in the Philippi Magistrate court on Monday, 30 August 2021, on the mentioned charges.
