FREE STATE – The Phuthaditjhaba Crime Intelligence Unit embarked on an intelligence driven in collaboration with Phuthaditjhaba K9 Unit that led to the successful arrest of a wanted suspect who is linked to the alleged murder of three patrollers at Bolata Village.
On Monday, 16 May 2022, at about 14:30, members of the community shared information with police which led to the arrest of a first wanted suspect at Hasethunya Village. He is expected to appear before the Tseki Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 19 May 2022 on three counts of murder.
It is alleged that on Wednesday, 04 May 2022, at about 23:30, patrollers of Anti-Stock Theft Unit followed up on information received about a group of people believed to have been stealing livestock. The information led them to a certain house at Bolata Village where, upon arrival shots were fired leaving two people dead and one injured. On Saturday, 14 May 2022 the third victim, Lelohla Jack Leotlela (35) succumbed to the injuries at local hospital.
