WESTERN CAPE – On Tuesday, 01 March 2022 integrated operations saw yet another suspect arrested for the possession of endangered succulents. Members attached to Malmesbury Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STES), Cape Nature Vanrhynsdorp and Provincial Traffic Vredendal arrested a 34 year old suspect after they received information about succulents that are being transported from Springbok to Cape Town. The vehicle was stopped and searched at the Klawer weighbridge and 4544 plants were found hidden in the trailer.
The suspect is due to make his court appearance today in the Klawer Magistrates court on a charge of possession of flora without documentation.
