Last night police officers were patrolling K Section in Umlazi when they spotted a motor vehicle with an occupant that was discharging a firearm in a public place.
The vehicle was stopped and a 9mm pistol with eight rounds of ammunition was seized. The 39-year-old suspect was arrested and charged for being in unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as discharging of a firearm in a public place.
He will appear at the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 August 2021.
