Suspect remanded in custody after being arrested for possession of explosives

A 35-year-old Patrick Modise was on Wednesday, 06 October 2021, remanded in custody upon appearance before the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mmabatho on a charge of possession of explosives. He will reappear at the same court on Wednesday, 13 October 2021.

 

The accused appeared in court after being arrested at Magogwe village at about 13:40 on Monday, 4 October 2021. That after the police received and operationalised information about someone who was allegedly seen in possession of explosives. Thus, the suspect’s house was searched with assistance of a sniffer dog. During the search, the police found 4 x 500g bags of explogel as well as electric detonators. As a result, Modise was immediately arrested.

 

Investigation into the matter continues.
