A 36-year-old undocumented foreign national, apprehended in connection with cases of assault, attempted murder, house robbery, and possession of suspected stolen properties, made a brief appearance before Waterval Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.
The suspect, who was arrested on Sunday 08 September 2024, at his residence in Shirley Village in Waterval, Vhembe district following an intelligence-driven joint operation, will appear in court tomorrow, 11 September 2024, for a formal bail application. Additional charges include contravention of the Immigration Act.
During the arrest, some of the properties believed to have been stolen during the crimes were recovered.
Police investigations are ongoing to link the suspect to other criminal activities, and more arrests are imminent.
The investigation is still continuing.
