KWAZULU-NATAL – On Saturday, 12 March 2022, Hawks members from Richards Bay Serious Organised Crime Investigation and Empangeni K9 unit arrested a 39-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs.

Members received information about a suspect who was manufacturing illegal substances in one of the flats at Meerensee in Richards Bay. They proceeded to the said premises and found the suspect busy packing dagga oil as well as capsules. The suspect failed to produce any document or permit that allows him to produce medicine. Police seized 2000 capsules and 3.5 kilogram of dagga to the street value of approximately R13 000-00.

He was then placed under arrest and charged for dealing in drugs, manufacturing dagga oil without license and possession of unregistered medicine. He is expected to appear in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court today.
