WESTERN CAPE – Endeavours by Lockdown II forces to root out serious and violent crimes were rewarded with an arrest last night in Nyanga. During routine patrols in the area late last night, a man was found sleeping in his vehicle in Sonwabile Drive. Acting on instinct, the man’s vehicle was searched which led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol without a serial number and 14 rounds of ammunition.
The 38-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to make his court appearance on Monday in Athlone for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
