Suspect arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

WILLOWVALE – Dedication and commitment displayed by Willowvale police in ensuring that firearms are off the street led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man yesterday, 03 November 2021.

 

Police were conducting crime combatting patrols in Nqadu Village, Willowvale when they received information about a man that was in possession of firearms. They were given the description of the vehicle that the suspect was in.  Police spotted the vehicle and searched the suspect. On their search police found a Revolver with the serial number scratched, 9mm pistol,  two (02) magazines, nine 09 rounds of ammunition and two (02) cartridge cases in his possession and he was arrested. Further investigations revealed that the suspect is also wanted for a double murder case.

 

The suspect appeared before the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court today 04 November 2021.

 

The Acting Amathole District Commissioner Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu applauded the members in their sterling work in ensuring that communities live in a safe environment.
