Suspect arrested for dealing in drugs

On Wednesday, 14 August 2024, Hawks members from Durban Serious Organised Crime Investigation received information about a possible drug activities happening at KwaMashu in Durban. A search warrant was granted by Ntuzuma Magistrate court. On Thursday, 15 August 2024, Hawks members from Durban Serious Organised Crime Investigation in collaboration with Durban Dog unit conducted an intelligence driven operation to execute the search warrant. During the search, members found a variety of drugs with an estimated street value of R6 770-00. They further found cash to the value of R4 800-00 suspected to be proceeds of crime. A 43-year-old suspect was arrested and charged for dealing in drugs. He is expected to appear before Ntuzuma Magistrate court, on Friday 16 August 2024. The KwaZulu-Natal Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Provincial Head, Major General (Dr) Lesetja Senona welcomed the arrest and commended the members for the good work.
