SAPS members’ continuous efforts to prevent and detect stolen stock yielded positive results during a combined operation.
On Wednesday, 6 October 2021 between 06h00 and 12h00 a Crime intelligence driven operation was conducted at Maladini area by members of Mount Fletcher, KatKop Visible Policing and Maluti Stock Theft Unit.
Positive information with regard to four suspected stolen cattle that were being kept by a suspect was followed up.
During the operation the suspected stolen cattle were recovered but the suspect managed to escape on a horseback.
The recovered stolen cattle was confiscated and among the recovered cattle one ox was positively identified by the lawful owner of Gemstone locality in the Katkop Policing Area.
The Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the recovery of the stolen stock.
