On the 29 August 2021, visible police members from Cofimvaba, Tsomo and Ngcobo SAPS, a Provincial Task Team, Provincial Traffic and Local Traffic held a roadblock on the R61 road between Ngcobo and Umtata, at the All Saints turnoff.

 

The operational concept, included a roadblock which focused on enforcement of the Disaster Management Act, Covid-19 Regulations and compliance with the National Transport Act, no 5 of 2009.

 

Successes

 

* 21 x Traffic fines issued – (Value R18 800-00),

 

* 1 bus suspended- (Fine -R4000-00),

 

* 3 x Drunk driving arrests.

 

The three accuseds between the ages of (36) and (51) will appear before the Ngcobo Magistrate’s Court today, Monday the 30th of August 2021.

 

The Acting District Commissioner of Chris Hani District, Brigadier Mabel Magqashela applauded the efforts of the Operational Commander, Lt Colonel X. Sali and the whole team from Traffic and the SAPS.
