Police in conjunction with JMPD stamped the authority of the state around the JHB CBD from 06:00 to 14:00.
Stop and search operations were conducted around Bree, MTN Taxi rank, Wanderers Taxi rank. Ten suspects were apprehended for various offences including dealing in drugs, selling liquor without a license, assault with an intention to cause grievous bodily harm and failing to keep records of second hand goods dealers.
Seven undocumented persons were apprehended for failing to produce valid papers to be in the country. JMPD issued twelve fines to the value of R5 500-00. Counterfeit goods and illicit cigarettes were also confiscated.
The suspects will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
