Stolen livestock recovered in a successful combined operation

EASTERN CAPE – SAPS endeavours to prevent the theft of livestock across the  border continues to yield positive results, after a multidisciplinary operation led  by specialised units; Crime Intelligence CI, Maluti Stock Theft, Mt Fletcher Stock Theft and South African National Defence Force in two separate incidents.

 

The first incident in the early hours of 07 September 2021, a multidisciplinary operation was successfully conducted from 05:00 – 09:00 following up on information of suspected stolen cattle hidden at Sithabathaba village in Zamuzolo Policing area. 18 suspected stolen cattle was recovered at Sethabathaba village with earmarks that was cut and replaced with new brand marks.

 

In the second incident on the same day also during a multidisciplinary operation at Kwa Ndoyi village in Sulenkama Policing area positive information was followed-up of suspected stolen sheep which was abandoned at a grazing field. 07 sheep were recovered.

 

In both cases no arrest were made yet but the police are following-up on all possible leads and investigation is continuing.
