Stock theft awareness held at Mokopane Radio Station

Station Commander Colonel Lesiba Mabote and Sergeant Mmadikgale Masingi of Mokopane Police Station visited Mokopane Community Radio Station to conduct a stock theft awareness programme.

Livestock owners should maintain secure fences and gates to protect their animals.

Verify the identification of individuals hired to care for livestock.

Report unknown livestock at stock posts to the SAPS immediately.

Regularly count livestock to prevent loss or theft.

Report shortages and signs of possible theft immediately.

Properly mark livestock with registered brand marks or tattoos to avoid disputes.

Be vigilant during peak stock theft periods, such as when it is full moon, over weekends, and month-ends.

Report unknown animals among your livestock to the SAPS and neighbours.

Colonel Mabote concluded the pro
gram by encouraging listeners to get involved with community structures like community policing forums, community in blue, and neighbourhood watch to combat crime.
