The Steenbras Nature Reserve and the Steenbras Gorge (Crystal Pools) hike are open to the public despite the planned roadworks along Clarence Drive (R44) between Gordon’s Bay and Rooi Els

The City of Cape Town wants to inform residents and visitors that they can still access the Steenbras Nature Reserve from Rooi Els while roadworks are under way along a 3km section of Clarence Drive (R44).

The R44 will be closed between the Grill Shack and the Steenbras Dam Mountain pass from 08:00 to 18:00 between 1 February and 16 February 2023. As such, those wanting to visit the reserve are advised to approach from Rooi Els's side.
