South Africa’s Government Activities Scheduled for 20-25 November 2023

Cape Town – South Africa is set to have a week filled with various government activities from 20 to 25 November 2023. The week will kick off with a post-Cabinet media briefing by Minister in The Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, in Pretoria on Monday, 20 November.

According to South African Government News Agency, The following day, Tuesday, 21 November, marks an important date for students as the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) officially opens applications for 2024 funding. Additionally, President Cyril Ramaphosa is slated to deliver a keynote address at the opening of the Education International 10th Africa Regional (EIRAF) Conference in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The midweek brings another significant event on Wednesday, 22 November, with President Ramaphosa expected to deliver a keynote address at the inauguration of the Nelson Mandela cruise terminal in Durban. On the same day, the National Credit Regulator will conduct a consumer webinar focusing on debt counselling starting at 10:00.

Approaching the weekend, Friday, 24 November, features the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Media Awards Dinner. This event, which includes the launch of the 2024 SADC Media Awards Competition, will take place at the IDC Conference Centre in Johannesburg.

The week concludes with a critical social awareness event on Saturday, 25 November. The launch of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children is scheduled to be held in Mpumalanga, marking a concerted effort to combat gender-based violence and promote the safety of women and children in the region.
