Uganda and South Africa to host Trade and Investment Business Forum in Gauteng
Uganda and South Africa will host a two-day Business Forum under the theme Boosting Trade and Investment Relations between South Africa and Uganda at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng from 27-28 February 2023. President Cyril Ramaphosa and President Yoweri Museveni will address the forum on Tuesday, 28 February 2023. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event as follows:
The purpose of the business forum is to increase and diversify the levels of bilateral trade and investment between Uganda and South Africa.
The business forum will also comprise of trade and investment presentations, panel discussions, breakaway sessions, a mini exhibition profiling businesses from Uganda and South Africa, business-to-business meetings and a Presidential session.
Total trade between the two countries in 2021 reached R2.075 billion, with South Africa’s imports from Uganda amounting to R268.7 million, while South African exports to Uganda registered R1.806 billion.
