FREE STATE – On Friday 18 February 2022 at about 21:00, six people were shot in Meqheleng at a local tavern and one person died.

It is alleged that three unknown suspects came to a tavern armed with firearms and fatally shot one person at the gate and walked inside the tavern and continued firing shots randomly. Five people sustained injuries.
