SAPS Thohoyandou welcomes newly appointed station commander

THOHOYANDOU – The management of the South African Police Service in Thohoyandou had today, on Thursday 13 January 2022 warmly welcomed the newly appointed Station Commander Brigadier Mantjane L.I.

 

The event was held at the Detective Hall and commenced with a prayer and self-introduction. Lieutenant Colonel Rambuda from the Detective Section on behalf of the members, promised the Brigadier that every member is ready to work together with him.She went on and indicated that although the station is one of the biggest in the Province and in the country as a whole, all the employees are dedicated and hardworkers and now with the new leadership, they are more ready to serve the community and fight crime.

 

A/C Dagada representing the South African Police Union (Sapu) also indicated that as Trade Unions they welcome the Brigadier.

 

Brigadier Mantjane who was very pleased to meet his new colleagues, said he is ready to serve the community members of Thohoyandou and will ensure that he works hand and glove with the management to combat crime to create a crime free area. The Brigadier also elaborated more on how he wants the management including all the members to operate and further outlined his future plans to improve service delivery and that the Police must take or own the streets not criminals.

 

In conclusion, Brigadier Mantjane indicated that reaching out to the community and community leaders such as Indunas or Chiefs is a key to enhance good relationships between the community and Police in the fight against crime.
