SAPS spoils the elderly in Port Nolloth

A multi-disciplinary initiative with several stakeholders in Port Nolloth focussing on older folk and their needs was a great success.

On Wednesday, 13 October 2021 the Port Nolloth SAPS, local Community Police Forum, the Department of Safety and Liaison, SAPS Social Crime Prevention, Womans Network and Port Nolloth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit visited the elderly in several areas in and around Port Nolloth.

During the programme discussions were held between the stakeholders and the elderly which promoted the older persons rights as stipulated in the Older Persons Act. This Act is intended to protect, promote and maintain the status, rights, well-being and security of older persons.

The team also treated them with comfort packs and treats which the attendees really appreciated enjoyed.
