SAPS Namakgale conducted a 16 Days of Activism awareness campaign

NAMAKGALE – The Police in Namakgale outside Phalaborwa have on Saturday, 27 November 2021, conducted an awareness campaign for 16 days of activism at CU Guest house.

The purpose of the campaign was to educate community members about gender-based violence and strengthening good relationship with the police. The campaign was led by CIO Constable Portia Malatji accompanied by the Provincial Women’s Network Secretary, Constable Maria Maswanganyi.

The following topics were addressed during the campaign:

  • Sexual offences
  • Gender-based violence
  • Assault cases
  • Human Trafficking
  • Kidnapping
  • Substance abuse

In conclusion, they were encouraged to break the silence against gender-based violence and also to seek professional help if they are facing challenges in their relationships.
