SAPS members detain suspects found in possession of firearms and ammunition

WESTERN CAPE - On Monday morning at about 05:00 members of the Nyanga Serious Violent Crime Unit were busy with a tracing operation in the Nyanga policing precinct when they went to a house in Zwelitsha, Nyanga, and searched the premises. The members found two 9mm pistols with 23, 9mm rounds, a R5 magazine with 24 rounds and a small pouch with 17, R5 rounds of ammunition in the house and a dwelling at the back of the house. Two adult males were arrested and detained on charges of possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition.

Once charged the suspects are due to make a court appearance in the Athlone Magistrates court on the mentioned charges.
