LUSIKISIKI - SAPS Junior Management Core (JMC) in the Eastern Cape visited four victims of rape, between 12 and 16 years of age, in Lusikisiki and Flagstaff respectively on Thursday, 3rd March 2022. The purpose of the visit was to render moral support and motivate the young and disadvantaged victims towards brighter future.

As part of support and motivation, the JMC delivered groceries and sets of school uniforms to the victims and their siblings. Affected families expressed sincere gratitude for the visits and gifts.

Respective neighbourhoods were called together for education and awareness on different issues relating to Gender Based Violence and Femicide, as part of involving them in ensuring safety and stability in their respective environments.

The opportunity was utilised to market My SAPS, which is a free application available on smartphones, provided by the South African Police Service to enable members of the community to submit crime tip-offs anonymously to the Crime Stop Centre.
