SAPS in Mpumalanga ensure Safer Festive Season is a reality

NELSPRUIT - The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela did not just deploy members to ensure safety of the citizens, but makes sure the General's boots are also on the ground and hands on in the fight against crime.

The General started inspecting operations yesterday, Thursday 22 December 2022 where the General visited Lochiel, Mkhondo and Oshoek Port of Entry.

The commitment of members was witnessed by discontinuing the overloaded taxi that posed danger to both the driver and passengers with smooth tyres and loose power connection cables and the arrest of two suspects for dealing in dagga at Mkhondo and traffic fines valued at more than R14 000-00 were issued.

The General also saw the recovery of stolen truck in Oshoek Port of Entry.

The inspections are still underway as the General visited Lebombo Port of Entry where the General was in the company of the MEC for roads and transport Mr Mandla Ndlovu and the National Commissioner of Boarder Management Agency Dr Mike Masiapato.

All the three senior officials were pleased in the manner officials are controlling vehicles and person's movement at the port of entry.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has praised members for their dedication and team spirit displayed by all roleplays who ensure the free flow of traffic and prevention of cross boarder crimes.
