CHRIS HANI DISTRICT – The South African Police service continues to embark in operations that seeks to fight any form of criminal activities in the Chris Hani district.
Operations included tracing of wanted suspects, compliance to the Disaster Management Act regulations and stop and searches.
During these operations, 28 suspects were arrested within the various policing precincts in the Chris Hani District.
Ngcobo:
Four suspects arrested for dealing in drugs;
One arrested for drunken driving and
A total of 22 suspects were issued with J534’s for contravention of Disaster Management Act regulations to the value of R25 000.00.
Cala:
A 28-year-old man was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm.
It is alleged that Police operationalized information of a suspect who was in possession of unlicensed firearm at one of the taverns.
Police proceeded to the tavern where the suspect was arrested and the unlicensed firearm (serial number removed) was seized.
All arrested suspects will appear before the various magistrate’s courts on Monday, 29 November 2021.
