CAMBRIDGE - Informed by the rising number of gender-based violence incidents, the Cambridge management in partnership with the local Community Policing Forum (CPF), Masimanyane and NICRO held an Imbizo at the Cambridge community hall to engage with the community with the aim of finding a lasting solution in this pandemic.

Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Colonel Mhatu said they have observed that most of these cases emanate from the drinking places where alcohol abuse plays a key role. He advised them to report cases so that we can be able to identify hotspot areas and that they need to form a WhatsApp group to be able to raise alarm quicker. Detective commander, Colonel Nomntu Tyafu shared the same sentiments and urged women to embrace and love one another. In giving a vote of thanks, deputy CPF chairperson, Mr. Nquka apologized for the low number of turnout and promised to address the issue as they are more determined to cooperate with the police.
