ZWELITSHA – The Eastern Cape South African Police Service (SAPS) continues to roll out its vaccination drive after the historic Provincial launch which saw the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga and MEC for Community Safety, Mrs Weziwe Tikana-Gxothiwe being the first in the police service to receive their Jabs on the 08 July 2021 at Gqeberha.

 

As part of the roll out to districts, the vaccination drive has started from 22 July 2021 to 31 July 2021. The SAPS personnel which includes the Police, Administration Staff, Reservists and Interns are expected to receive vaccination during this period.

 

The SAPS in the Eastern Cape has seen over 3000 employees being vaccinated from the time that the vaccination drive was launched and this number is expected to increase as members have shown much interest in receiving their jabs.

 

Members of the media are invited to visit all the vaccination sites to cover the events and are requested to RSVP to Communication Officers as indicated on the attached table.
