GAUTENG – On Saturday, 05 March 2022 the Station Commander of SAPS Brakpan, Brigadier Fredl Jonck and some of his members “rolled up their sleeves” to clean the streets of Brakpan town in a concerted effort to create a crime free and clean community.
The SAPS members were joined by local Councillors and representatives of EMPD Management, Waste Department, local security companies, Benoni Radio Group, Transport Companies, Afriforum and the local CPF to address the overall state of the town.
Brigadier Fredl Jonck emphasised that the general cleanliness and empty buildings may have an impact on crime and further highlighted the importance of partnership policing. Councillor Brandon Pretorius added that he supports the community-driven project, with all stakeholders present to put the wheels of change in motion.
The objective of the project was to hand out notices to business owners and residents in the town to have them clean in front of their properties, not to litter and to do their part of removing dirt in front of pavements and entrances.
SAPS Brakpan Station Commander, Brig Fredl Jonck and Councillor Brandon Pretorius urge community members that anyone that is willing to bring change in the town to join them in the fight against crime.
