SAPS Boksburg North members apprehend two alleged hijackers for possession of police uniform, unlicensed firearms and ammunition

GAUTENG - Vigilance by members of SAPS Boksburg North resulted in the apprehension of two alleged hijackers, aged 33 and 35, in Lillianton on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 for possession of police uniform, unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The Crime Prevention members were reportedly out on a route patrol when they detected a suspicious looking vehicle. The suspects immediately sped off when they noticed the police, but their vehicle was swiftly intercepted by the SAPS members.

A search led the members to recover police uniform and other SAPS related items, unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Further investigation revealed that the suspects' vehicle is linked to a carjacking case being investigated by SAPS Jeppe.

The two suspects were subsequently arrested and expected to appear before a Magistrates' Court soon.
