GQEBERHA – SAPS Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of a man who was found dead in Jagsvlakte, Bethelsdorp on Wednesday 23 November 2022. 

It is alleged that on the mentioned date at about 09:10, police received a complaint of a body lying in an open piece of field at Jagsvlakte. On arrival a member of the community pointed out the body of an unknown man that was partially decomposed.  The deceased was dressed in blue jeans, cream socks and black formal shoes. He had a distinguished tattoo on his right upper arm with the name “Sonwabo”.

An Inquest was opened and is under investigation. Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of the deceased or may be able to identify him or can furnish any information relating to his death, is asked to contact D/WO Attie Knoetze at SAPS Bethelsdorp on 084 660 8003 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station or send information via MySAPS App. All information received will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
