The Security Association of Namibia (SAN) has distanced itself from fraudulent activities allegedly being carried out by non-members, who allegedly use its certificates to acquire tenders and contracts by misrepresenting themselves as SAN members.
SAN, in a media statement availed to Nampa on Tuesday, clarified that they have received numerous complaints regarding the fraudulent use of their certificates by non-members.
“We would like to inform all our stakeholders, the public and consumers that such fraudulent activities being carried out by non-members to acquire tenders and contracts by misrepresenting themselves as members of SAN, not only causes harm to our association but also puts the security and safety of the public at risk,” said the statement, adding that SAN wishes to request for all stakeholders and consumers to be vigilant and verify the membership of any security company claiming to be affiliated to it.
SAN urged the public to contact its office to confirm the membership status of any security company claiming to be affiliated to it, and all companies engaging in fraudulent activities are warned of possible legal action.
