South Africa has recorded a 96.3% COVID-19 recovery rate, the Department of Health reported on Monday.
“The cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 3 524 402 with a recovery rate of 96.3%,” the department said in a statement.
The latest confirmed cases of COVID-19 released by the department on Monday were 3 659 698, after 1 151 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours.
This increase represents a 7.4% positivity rate.
The department also reported 137 deaths due to respiratory disease, bringing the total fatalities to 98 804 to date.
A total of 22 896 483 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in both private and public sectors, with 15 604 tested by the reporting time.
