The Rössing Foundation on Tuesday handed over textbooks and learning materials worth N.dollars 350 000 to the Nangolo and Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Secondary Schools at Ondangwa.
Handing over the donation, the foundation’s Executive Director Uparura Kuvare said they plan to donate 12 239 textbooks to 17 schools across the country during this year.
The foundation also intends to donate 490 calculators and 1 000 mathematics sets to 13 schools across the country.
Andimba Toivo ya Toivo SS received textbooks and learning materials worth N.dollars 200 000, while Nangolo SS received textbooks and learning materials worth N.dollars 150 000.
“It is our wish that the donated textbooks and tools will offer every learner the opportunity and time devoted to learning but also paced guidance of the prescribed curricula and subject matter,” Kuvare said.
He added that this will also improve the performances in the subjects identified since the targeted teachers and learners have access to the desired textbooks and requisite learning tools.
Andimba Toivo ya Toivo SS school principal Warde Shapaka urged the learners to make use of the materials and improve the quality of their education.
Shapaka also urged the learners from both schools to remain disciplined and use the materials at their disposal to deliver excellent results come 2024.
