THABONG – Two male suspects are being sought after they overpowered a Police officer while at her residence in Thabong.
Earlier today, at about 06:30, it is alleged that a 40-year-old female Police Sergeant was at her residence with her two brothers preparing to visit the cemetery. Her brothers were already waiting inside the vehicle. When she opened the door, she saw two unknown armed males with masks. The suspects forced her back inside threatening to harm her children if she does not give them her Police firearm.
The complainant handed over the firearm loaded with 15 live rounds of ammunition and the suspects fled the scene. After they left her home, she realized they also took her hand bag that was on her couch which contained a Police pocket book, Smart Card Identity Document, driver's license, Capitec bank card and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The incident was reported to the Police and a case of House Robbery was registered for further investigation. Anyone with information that may lead to the arrests of these house robbery suspects can contact Detective Constable Nokuthula Ntanjane of Thabong Serious and violent crimes on 071 411 8367 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
