A 28-years-old Nicodemus Barendse was found guilty and sentenced in the Rietfontein Magistrate Court for Stock Theft on Friday, 5 November 2021. The accused was arrested following a case reported of goat slaughtered without the owner’s permission in 2019 near Drieboom. The case was allocated to Warrant Officer Jacques Ockhuys attached to Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit. He traced the suspect, brought him before Court and Barendse was sentenced to 2 years direct imprisonment.
The Acting District Commissioner of ZF Mgcawu, Colonel PC Coetzee applauded the member for a job well done.
