DURBAN – The Richards Bay Regional Court sentenced Mduduzi Mboniseni Dumakude (35) to ten years imprisonment for rape. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
On 14 September 2018 at 23:30, a 22-year-old woman was raped by a known man while at Mzingazi Current Reserve in Richards Bay. A case of rape was opened at Richards Bay SAPS. The docket was transferred to the Empangeni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation. The accused was then placed under arrest after an intensive investigation. He made several court appearances until his sentence.
